Justifying Documents

The documents justifying the purpose and conditions of the stay and proving the existence of appropriate means both for subsistence during the stay, as well as for returning to the country of origin or for transit to another state in which there is certainty that the entry will be allowed, are:

Tourism:

• a voucher or a firm reservation at a tourist accommodation unit and the itinerary of the trip;
• valid travel ticket to the destination or driving license, green card and vehicle registration documents for drivers;
• medical insurance;
• proof of the means of subsistence in the amount of 50 euro / day for the whole period, but not less than 500 euro or the equivalent in convertible currency; 

Visit:

• valid travel ticket to the destination or driving license, green card and vehicle registration documents for drivers;  
• medical insurance;
• an authenticated invitation from the person visited, in which they state that they will cover the cost of removal, if the invited foreigner does not leave Romania until the date of termination of the right of residence established by the visa, and, when the person visited obliges themselves, the coverage of the  means of subsistence and housing of the foreigner;
• proof of the means of subsistence in the amount of 50 euro / day for the entire period, but not less than 500 euro or the equivalent in convertible currency, if the person visited does not provide the means of subsistence ;
• the proof of the accommodation conditions, in the form of a firm reservation at an accommodation unit, a document of ownership or rental of a dwelling in Romania on behalf of the applicant, if the person visited does not provide the accommodation; 

Business:

• valid travel ticket to the destination or driving license, green card and vehicle registration documents for drivers;
• medical insurance;
• invitation from a commercial company or public authorities to attend meetings, conferences, fairs or congresses in connection with trade or industry, showing that the company or public authority concerned will provide the costs of the removal, in case that the alien invited does not leave Romania until the date of termination of the right of residence established by the visa or other documents proving the purpose of the trip;
• proof of the means of subsistence in the amount of 50 euro / day for the whole period, but not less than 500 euro or the equivalent in convertible currency;
• proof of ensuring accommodation conditions; 

Transport:

• documents certifying the applicant's profession, as well as the activity to be carried out during the stay;
• medical insurance;
• driving license, green card and vehicle registration documents;
• transport license and execution license;

Sports activities:

• the invitation of the organizers, certifying medical insurance and accommodation;
• the official list of the foreign sports delegation, specifying the quality of each member;
• the approval of the County Department for Sport; 

Cultural, scientific, humanitarian, short-term medical treatment or other activities that to not infringe upon Romanian law:

• documents issued by the institutions they are going to visit to justify their presence in Romania;
• valid travel ticket to the destination or driving license, green card and vehicle registration documents for drivers;
• proof of the means of subsistence in the amount of 100 euro / day or the equivalent in convertible currency for the whole period; 
• medical insurance;
• proof of ensuring accommodation conditions.

The attendants of the drivers traveling with them are exempted from the presentation of the valid ticket to the destination.
