Today, the Romanian Border Police was honored by the visit of His Excellency Mr. CHARLES MICHEL, President of the European Council, to the headquarters in Bucharest.
The high-ranking European official was welcomed by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Lucian Bode, by Mr. State Secretary of the MAI, General Police Quaestor Bogdan Despescu, as well as by the delegation of the Romanian Border Police, led by Mr. Inspector General, Police Quaestor Victor- Stefan Ivascu.
On this occasion, the Operational Coordination Center was presented - an essential organizational component within the institution, for the integrated management of borders.
Also in this context, the capabilities of the Romanian Border Police were exposed, in order to ensure a high level of supervision and control of the external borders of the European Union.
His Excellency, Mr. Charles Michel appreciated the importance and quality of the police service of the Romanian Border Police and the equipment used in border management, given that our country has the longest external land border of the European Union, totaling over 2,000 km.
