Based on the information given by the border policemen, the officers within the General Anticorruption Directorate caught red-handed two persons, a Romanian and a Hungarian citizen, who offered 100 Euro as bribe, respectively 79.700 Forints, in order not to obey the law.
On 06.05.2009, a citizen of Moisei locality was
caught red-handed by the officers within the General Anticorruption
Directorate - Territorial Anticorruption Service in Cluj-Napoca,
under the coordination of the appointed prosecutor from the
Prosecutor’s Office within Maramures Court and with the
support of the General Direction for Information and Internal
Protection, while he was trying to offer 100 Euro to a police agent
within the County Inspectorate of Border Police Maramures - Border
Police Sector of Viseu de Sus, so that the border policeman would
not draw up criminal file on his name for driving a vehicle without
holding a driving license.
Thus, on 03.05.2009, the border policemen within the County
Inspectorate of Border Police Maramures stopped at the entry in
Moisei locality, an "Audi" vehicle, registered abroad, driven by
the Romanian citizen Stefan H., aged 28, domiciled in Maramures
County.
On the occasion of checking the documents of the vehicle, it was
ascertained that the driver did not hold a driving license.
While the investigations were being carried out, the driver
promised the border policemen the amount of 100 Euro so that the
latter would not draw up a criminal file.
The border policeman informed immediately his superiors, who
announced the employees within the General Anticorruption
Directorate - Territorial Anticorruption Service in Cluj-Napoca for
setting up and carrying out the flagrant.
On 06.05.2009, Stefan H. was caught when he was offering the amount
of 100 Euro to the border policemen for determining him not to draw
up a criminal file.
As a result of the flagrant, the person concerned is being
investigated for committing the crime of bribe offering, by the
prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office within Maramures
Court, on his name was issued the order for 24 hours detainment,
following to be presented to Maramures Court with the proposal of
detention on remand.
As a result of an information provided by an
officer within County Inspectorate of Border Police in Satu Mare to
the General Anticorruption Directorate - Territorial Anticorruption
Service in Oradea, a Hungarian citizen was caught red-handed by the
officers within the General Anticorruption Directorate in Satu Mare
when he was offering 79.700 Forints as bribe to the border
policeman.
On 06.05.2009, the border policemen within the Bureau for
Countering Cross-border Crime of County Inspectorate of Border
Police in Satu Mare carried out an activity in the field of
countering illegal trafficking with excisable goods. Within this
action, in Botiz locality, the border policemen stopped for
checking, an Opel Omega vehicle registered in Hungary. The car was
driven by the Hungarian citizen, Tamas S., accompanied by another
Hungarian citizen, Gyula B., aged 38.
Having suspicions that inside the vehicle might be hidden in
special places, products subject to excise duty, the vehicle and
the two Hungarian citizens were taken to the County Inspectorate of
Border Police in Satu Mare in order to carry out a thorough
check.
As a result of the check, the border policemen discovered in the
back bumper, a hand made device with a pressure valve which was
apparently leading to the fuel tank. Gyula B. stated that he
borrowed the vehicle from a relative and that the hand made device
leads to a tank in which there were 150 liters of ethyl alcohol,
which he intended to transport to Hungary.
The Hungarian citizen Gyula B. offered the amount of 79.700 Forints
to a border policeman so that the latter would not fulfill his
duties and would not take the appropriate legal measures.
The officer reported to the leading staff of C.I.B.P. in Satu Mate
regarding the appeared situation, who informed the employees within
General Anticorruption Directorate in Satu Mare, and under the
coordination of the prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office
within Satu Mare Court, they proceeded for setting up and carrying
out the flagrant. Thus, Gyula B. Was caught while offering 79.700
Forints as bribe to the investigation officer, to determine him to
disobey his duties.
Against the Hungarian citizen Gyula B. the Prosecutor’s
Office within Satu Mare Court disposed the preventive measure of
forbidding the exit of the country and Satu Mare locality for a
period of five days; in this case the investigations are carried on
by the Prosecutor’s Office within Satu Mare Court.
