The situation at the border, in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, through the border crossing points, 75,200 persons, Romanian and foreign nationals, crossed the border and more than 30,700 transportation means (out of which 14,500 by freight).

On the entry, approximately 35,400 persons crossed the border on 14,600 transportation means and on the exit, 39,800 persons, respectively 16,100 means of transport.

At the same time, at the border with Hungary, 26,500 persons and 14,700 transportation means proceeded with the formalities, out of which about 11,600 persons with 6,500 transportation means on the entry (6,700 freight cars).

The border police is working at the maximum capacity allowed by the infrastructure of the border crossing points. Currently, the traffic is running smoothly without any waiting times. Next, we recommend to the traffic participants the transit of all border crossing points open to international traffic, to avoid the occurrence of overloads of only some of them.

In the area of competence – border crossing points and „green area”, the border guards found:

  • 37 illegal deeds (18 crimes and 19 offences) committed by both Romanian and foreign nationals;
  • undeclared goods (were about to entry illegally in the country) were detected independently or in collaboration with other institutions, that exceeded the customs ceiling or suspicious of being counterfeited, amounting to more than RON 152,100;
  • the value of the fines is approximately RON 5,700;
  • 118 foreign nationals were not allowed to enter the country due to the fact that they did not meet the legal provisions and, also, 10 Romanian nationals were not allowed to exit from different legal reasons.
