Between 03 – 05 February 2026, in Szeged, Hungary, the second Workshop for elaboration of the public awareness guide was held within the project “ROHU00634 – SAFE – Together for a Safer Area”, financed under the Interreg VI-A Romania – Hungary Cooperation Programme.
The overall objective of the project is to increase the level of safety and security for citizens, residents and tourists in the eligible area by addressing cross-border challenges through the improvement of institutional capacities, the modernization of training facilities and the strengthening of cooperation between law enforcement institutions from Romania and Hungary.
The purpose of the second workshop is to complete the initial version by improving the content and developing practical methodologies for presenting information to the public. The topics addressed include the creation of user-friendly and citizen-accessible materials. Following the session, the guide will be finalized and a dissemination strategy will be established to maximize its reach and impact. The resulting public awareness guide will be a comprehensive resource tailored to the needs of cross-border communities.
It will address topics such as travel regulations, vehicle documentation, freight compliance, and combating illegal activities, and will be made available in both digital and printed formats. The guide will use clear language to ensure accessibility and relevance, serving as an indispensable tool for the public information center.
