Today, July 1, 2021, in the presence of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Lucian Bode, the Secretary of State for Order and Security, police quaestor general Bogdan Despescu, the Inspector General of the Romanian Border Police - Chief Quaestor of Police Bute Liviu, as well as and other officials from Suceava County, the modernized headquarters of the Izvoarele Sucevei Border Police Sector was inaugurated, rehabilitated to European standards.
"I said from the first days when I took office that I want to know the people who work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, from all structures, as closely as possible. I believe that in this way a Minister has the opportunity to understand the real needs of the people in the system, to take measures to improve the activity and working conditions, which will lead to the provision of quality services for citizens. Today, we have the opportunity to see the new headquarters of the Izvoarele Sucevei Border Police Sector, designed to allow the efficient organization of surveillance and control at the external borders in compliance with the recommendations, operational standards and best practices of EU states.” said the Minister of the Interior on this occasion.
The modern construction of this headquarters corresponds to the current concept of supporting border surveillance and control, ensures working conditions at European standards (modern furniture, state-of-the-art communications and IT equipment, state-of-the-art air conditioning system, modern bathrooms) and parking and accommodation for land mobility (garage, automatic refueling station), dog paddocks, gym and a modern conference room.
The project was started by the General Inspectorate of the Border Police, within the investment programs, the procedures for the rehabilitation of the headquarters of the Border Police Sector Izvoarele Sucevei being carried out in order to ensure the optimal conditions for carrying out the specific activities.
The amount allocated to this project entitled "Rehabilitation of administrative flag and construction of flags and new facilities at the Border Police Sector Izvoarele Sucevei, Suceava County" was worth 8.2 million lei with VAT, the money coming from non-reimbursable European funds, within Internal Security Fund Program.
After complying with all the steps provided by law for such projects - feasibility studies, design, procurement procedure of execution works, the actual execution of rehabilitation of the headquarters was completed this year, the execution work being started in April 2020.
The aim was to "effectively organize surveillance and control at the external borders and apply EU recommendations, operational standards and best practices on border surveillance and control".
From an operational point of view, the modernized headquarters of the Izvoarele Sucevei Border Police Sector is located in Izvoarele Sucevei, in the immediate vicinity of the DJ 175 communication, which allows an operative movement of troops in the area of competence, and bringing it to the appropriate technical parameters in line with current requirements has been a priority for the Border Police's investment programs.
The implementation of this project was done under the coordination of the Logistics Directorate within the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Border Police, with the participation of the designated specialists from TIBP Sighetu Marmației.
This project was necessary for the inclusion in the note of modernity of interior spaces and the creation of optimal conditions for carrying out the activities, in accordance with the strategic objective of the integrated management of the state border of Romania.
