During the period 06-09 September 2022, was held the Bilateral Cooperation Meeting between the commandant the Turkish Coast Guard and the General Inspector of Romanian Border Police in company with representative delegation, in Bucharest and Constanta.
The delegation of Republic Turkiye led by Commandant of Coast Guard, Mr. Rear Admiral Ahmet KENDIR was welcomed by the Inspector General of the Romanian Border Police, Mr. Police Chief Commissioner Victor IVAŞCU.
The discussion sessions focused on enhancing the majors performed in order to fight against illegal migration and cross-border criminalities in the Black Sea region, as well on improving the bilateral cooperation.
Taking into account the geostrategical position in the Black Sea Region of the Republic Turkiye and Romania, this bilateral meeting also focus on performing of experience exchange on maritime border management.
Important in the context is the signing of the Agreed Minutes of the bilateral cooperation meeting between the general inspector of Romanian Border Police and the Turkish Coast Guard commandant, which highlights the common agenda for 2023 in the field of combating illegal migration and cross-border criminality of the Black Sea, as well as the specific professional training in the maritime domain.
Plus, a presentation of the capabilities of the Operational Coordination Center within GIBP as well as a visit at the Coast Guard from Constanta, were performed.
During the maritime visit trip from Constanta to Mangalia, a SAR exercise was conduct.
In the end of the meeting the foreign delegation highly appreciated the way of ensuring the maritime border security, the infrastructure, the operational and technical capabilities of the Coast Guard, as well as manner of preventing and combating illegal migration.
