The chief of the Central Directorate of French Border Police, visiting the Romanian Border Police

During 06 - 08.10.2013, based on the invitation of the general inspector of the Romanian Border Police, police chief quaestor Ioan Buda a delegation of the Central Directorate of the French Border Police, led by the general inspector, Mr. Frederic Perrin, carried out an official visit at the Romanian Border Police, in order to extent and enhance the cooperation relations with the border police structures from both states.

On the occasion of this meeting, the general inspector of the Romanian Border Police, police chief quaestor Ioan Buda, presented the structure, the competences and tasks of the Romanian Border Police, as well as the activities carried out in order to fulfill the objectives for accessing the Schengen area.

Within the Headquarters of the R.I.B.P., the French delegation visited the Command and Control Center of the Romanian Border Police, which has as main utility the collecting and processing of information from the surveillance and control systems installed at the border, in order to optimize the response time and the resource management at a unitary level.

At the same time, the French delegation went to Constanþa to visit the Integrated System for Observation, Surveillance and Control of Traffic at the Black Sea (S.C.O.M.A.R).

The representatives of the Coast Guard presented the activities developed by the border policemen in the responsibility area of the Coast Guard, the endowments of the Border Police in the field of naval mobility, as well as the actions undertaken in order to secure the external borders of Schengen and E.U., especially the blue border.

The French delegation appreciated the Romanian Border Police as a competent and reliable partner in the fight against cross-border crime and an institution enjoying the respect and appreciation of similar structures from E.U. member states.

This visit is in the programme carried out by the Romanian Border Police for the enhancement of the international inter-institutional cooperation relations in the border field, in order to ensure the security of E.U. external borders.
