The Romanian Border Police disposed a series of measures meant to ease traffic and to reduce the waiting time at the border, during the Easter holiday.
Thus, to avoid overcrowding and to realize an operational and fluent check in the border crossing points, the Romanian Border Police undertook measures to supplement the number of personnel carrying out activities in the border crossing points and also, according to the situation, the number of check lanes both on the entry way in the country and on the exit one will be increased.
At the same time, measures will be taken in order to manage efficiently the operational situation, respectively the prevention and the countering of cross-border illegal actions.
In the following period, approximately 2.200 border policemen will carry out, daily, border check and surveillance activities and more than 200 officers will be involved in check, support and guidance activities in order to ensure the observance of specific work conditions at the level of subordinated structures.
Recommendations:
In order to avoid overcrowding, from the point of view of transit, at the main border crossing points with Bulgaria and Hungary, the Romanian Border Police recommends the traffic participants to transit all the common border points existing at the border, as follows:

Sacuieni - Letavertes; on the radius of Satu Mare county: B.C.P. Urziceni - Vallaj; B.C.P. Petea - Csengersima; at the Romanian-Bulgarian border: on the radius of Giurgiu county: B.C.P. Giurgiu - Russe; on the radius of Constanta county: B.C.P. Vama Veche - Durankulak; B.C.P. Ostrov - Silistra; B.C.P. Negru Voda - Kardam; on the radius of Dolj county: B.C.P. Bechet - Orjahovo; B.C.P. During the Easter holiday in 2009 (12 - 19.04.2009), the border policemen carried out the check of the travel documents of more than 800.000 persons who crossed the Romanian border, out of which approximately 490.000 were Romanians and 320.000 foreign citizens, the most transited were the border crossing points in the West and South of the country.
