Her Excellency, Ms. Ulla Väistö, the ambassador of Finland in Bucharest, made a working visit on the 3rd of December 2011, between 10.00 - 13.00, at the Border Crossing Point Sculeni.
On this occasion, the B.P.C.I. management Iasi presented the main activities of border policemen in the Border Crossing Point Sculeni, the training process and anticorruption measures adopted at the level of this structure.
During this visit, her Excellency, attended at the performance of border check both on the entry and exit way and at a demonstrative tactical exercise.
The modality and stages of performing the border check upon exit from and entry into Romania of persons, goods and vehicles regarding the observance of the European and national law, the use of technical equipment (working stations, fix and handheld optical readers, doku-box, optical device, CO2 detector, heart beat detector, device for the detection of radioactive substances, endoscope, buster, video-spectral comparator) and of the optical recognition system were described. The equipment for surveillance of the E.U. external borders was also presented.
At the end of the visit, Her Excellency, held a press conference and stated: I highly appreciate the level of the equipments in the endowment of Border Police and the modality of selection and training of border policemen which use these equipments. In the Border Crossing Point Sculeni, the combination of technical equipments and level of border police training is very optimal. The impression I got during this visit is absolutely positive and I consider that Romania, through the Border Police, took the responsibility of ensuring the border security very seriously. I shall leave Iasi with a very good impression which I will further transmit to the Finnish Government.
This visit represents a very important element in adopting the decision of accepting our country in the area of free movement in Europe.
