Within the last 24 hours Romanian Border Police carried out specific activities within the area of responsibility in regards to state border surveillance and checks, counter and prevent illegal migration and cross border criminality. The main events were as follows:
Romanian - Ukrainian border:
Car seized at Siret Border Crossing Point for smuggling of cigarettes
Romanian Border Police officers within Siret Border
Crossing Point, Suceava County, together with custom officers,
detected, in a vehicle belonging to a Ukrainian, hidden and
undeclared, 300 packages of cigarettes.
Custom officers seized the cigarettes valuing 325 Lei and the
vehicle, imposing a fine of 10,000 lei for the driver.
Cigarettes and Vodka seized at Siret Border Crossing Point
Romanian Border Police officers within Siret
Border Crossing Point, Suceava County, together with custom
officers, detected, inside the luggage belonging to a Ukrainian, 34
years old, hidden and undeclared, 110 packages of cigarettes and 12
bottles of Vodka, Ukrainian brand.
Custom officers seized the goods valuing 322 Lei, imposing a fine
of 5,000 Lei for the person.

Police officers rescued a man situated on the right shore of Danube
River.
M. Arsenie, 61 years old, due to weather conditions had to look for
shelter under a hut within the area. His family informed the
authorities in regards to his missing. After being sure of the fact
that the persons’ life was safe, law enforcement bodies took
all the necessary measures to reach his family.
Cigarettes hidden in the driver’s luggage
Romanian Border Police officers within Albita
Border Crossing Point, Vaslui County in cooperation with custom
officers detected 255 packages of cigarettes hidden inside the
luggage of a Moldovan bus driver, coming from Italy in order to
reach Italy.
Custom officers seized the cigarettes, imposing a fine of 5,000 Lei
for each aforementioned people.
Coast Guard:
Thousands of cigarettes sized at Constanta
Romanian Border Police officers within Constanta
Border Police Territorial Service while carrying out specific
activities for countering cigarettes smuggling and fiscal evasion
seized 10,200 unstamped packages of cigarettes coming from
duty-free shops.
The cigarettes belonged to S.A., 30 years old Romanian citizen,
H.C., 31 years old Romanian citizen and B.N., 18 years old Romanian
citizen.
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of
smuggling were drawn by Border Police officers. The whole amount of
cigarettes valuing about 5,010 Lei was seized.
Sick person carried to Ambulance by Romanian Border Police officers
Romanian Border Police officers within Coast
Guard were asked to carry to an Ambulance a sick female, 48 years
old, living in Tulcea County.
The person reached safely the paramedics from SMURD.
Romanian - Hungarian border:
Tobacco seized at the border
Romanian Border Police officers within Barantau
Border Crossing Point, Bihor County, detected a Romanian trying to
bring into Romania 2.650 kilos of tobacco.
Border Police officers acted in accordance with the law, taking all
the imposed legal measures, seizing the whole amount of
tobacco.
