Within the last 24 hours Romanian Border Police carried out specific activities within the area of responsibility in regards to state border surveillance and checks, counter and prevent illegal migration and cross border criminality. The main events were as follows:
Romanian - Moldovan border:
Illegal fishermen detected at Stinca Border Police Sector
Romanian Border Police officers within Stinca Border
Police Sector, Botosani County, while carrying out activities for
countering and preventing illegal fishing within the responsibility
area, detected three people illegally crossing the frozen Prut
River for fishing by using illegal nets.
All the imposed legal measures were taken by Border police
officers, the aforementioned people being handed over to the
authorities of Republic of Moldova, based on a Common
Agreement.
Criminal file for 850 packages of undeclared cigarettes
Romanian Border Police officers within Albita
Border Crossing Point, Vaslui County, detected a man trying to
illegally bring into Romania, hidden inside a bus, 850 packages of
cigarettes made in Republic of Moldova.
Custom officers seized the cigarettes and the vehicle.
Falsified driving licenses
Romanian Border Police officers within Albita
Border Crossing Point, Vaslui County, detected two men, with double
citizenship, Romanians and Republic of Moldova nationals, who
handed over to Border Police officers falsified driving
licenses.
Border Police officers acted in accordance with the law, taking all
the imposed legal measures.
Drunk driver at Albita Border Crossing Point
Romanian Border Police officers within Albita
Border Crossing Point, Vaslui County, detected a Romanian citizen,
Mihai M, 44 years old, who wanted to enter Romania driving a
vehicle while being drunk. He refused to submit the procedures in
order to clarify the think in regard to its drunkenness, so
representatives of National police were asked to be present
there.
Law enforcement officers acted in accordance with the law, taking
all the imposed legal measures.
Seized cigarettes and cancelled travel document
Romanian Border Police officers within Galati
Border Crossing Point, Galati County, together with custom
officers, detected, in vehicle, hidden and undeclared, 6,600
cigarettes, which two citizens of Republic of Moldova tried to
illegally bring them into Romania.
Custom officers seized the cigarettes and the vehicle, imposing a
fine of 5,000 lei for each aforementioned people. Romanian Border
Police officers took all the imposed legal measures, cancelling the
travel documents.

Romanian Border Police officers within Capul
Midia Border Crossing Point, Constanta County, detected on board of
a vessel two Romanians selling electronics.
Border Police officers acted in accordance with the law, taking all
the imposed legal measures.
Criminality on public roads
Romanian Border Police officers within Coast
Guard detected a Romanian driving a Hyundai, registered in Spain,
without having a driving license.
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of
driving a car without having a driving license were drawn by Border
Police officers.
Romanian - Serbian border:
Ten migrants detected at the "green border"
Romanian Border Police officers within Jimbolia and
Lunga Border Police Sectors, Timis County, detected ten illegal
migrants, Algerians, Afghanis and Moroccans, with ages from 21 to
36 years old, trying to illegally cross the Serbian - Romanian
"green border".
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of
illegal state border crossing and of attempt of illegal state
border crossing were drawn by Border Police officers, following at
the end of the investigation to be taken all the imposed legal
measures.
Romanian - Hungarian border:
Illegal migrants detected at 50 meters away from the border
Romanian Border Police officers within Nadlac
Border Crossing Point, Arad County, detected and apprehended two
groups of illegal migrants, consisting of eight people from
Algeria, Morocco and Somalia, with ages from 22 to 35 years old,
trying to illegally cross the border by walking for reaching
Schengen area.

International wanted people stopped at the border
Romanian Border Police officers within Cenad
Border Crossing Point, Timis County, detected two Romanians, trying
to exit our country.
They were internationally wanted by law enforcement authorities, so
they were apprehended and handed over to respective
authorities.
