Within the last 24 hours Romanian Border Police carried out specific activities within the area of responsibility in regards to state border surveillance and checks, counter and prevent illegal migration and cross border criminality. The main events were as follows:
Coast Guard:
Child from Sulina rescued by Romanian Border Police
On 26.01.2012, at about 18.30 hours, Romanian
Border Police officers within Coast Guard were asked to act in
order to save and rescue a child’s life, by transporting him
to the hospital with one of their vessels.
The child reached the hospital safely and received the medical help
needed.
Counterfeit cosmetics at Agigea
Based on risk analysis a joint team consisting
of Romanian Border Police officers within Coast Guard and
custom’s officers checked a container arrived from China,
loaded with 10.560 counterfeit cosmetics.
All the imposed legal measures were taken by Border police
officers, the cosmetics being seized.
Romanian - Serbian border:
Nine illegal migrants detected at the border
Romanian Border Police officers within Lunga Border
Police Sector, Timis County, detected nine illegal migrants,
Algerians and Moroccans, with ages from 19 to 34 years old,
intending to illegally cross Serbian - Romanian green border.
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of
illegal state border crossing were drawn by Border Police officers,
following at the end of the investigation to be taken all the
imposed legal measures.
Without driving license at the border
Romanian Border Police officers within Moravita
Border Crossing Point, Timis County, detected a Romanian driving an
Opel without a driving license.
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of
usage driving a car without having a driving license were drawn by
Border Police officers, following at the end of the investigation
to be taken all the imposed legal measures.
Romanian - Hungarian border:
Romanian citizenship for 300 EUROS
Romanian Border Police officers within Cenad
Border Crossing Point, Timis County, detected a woman, citizen of
Republic of Moldova, trying to illegally cross the border by using
a Romanian identity card, which she managed to get for 300
Euros.
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of
attempt of illegal state border crossing, of complicity to forgery,
of falsification in regards to her identity and usage of falsified
documents were drawn by Border Police officers, following at the
end of the investigation to be taken all the imposed legal
measures.
