Within the last 24 hours Romanian Border Police carried out specific activities within the area of responsibility in regards to state border surveillance and checks, counter and prevent illegal migration and cross border criminality. The main events were as follows:
Romanian - Ukrainian border:

away from the border line, 1,400 meters high, 4,270 packages of
cigarettes made in Ukraine, valuing about 38,000 LEI. The
cigarettes were illegally brought into Romania by two men.

30 years old, driving a BMW 120 D, stolen from Italy on 18th of
January 2012.

vehicle was registered up to 14.01.2012, on the name of Victor G.,
42 years old.

1,000 packages of Ukraine made cigarettes hidden in a car coming from Hungary
Two people from Satu Mare county, a mother and her sun,
are incriminate for smuggling and other crimes in regards to goods,
their storage and sale.
They were detected by Romanian Border Police officers within Petea
Border Crossing Point, Satu Mare County while trying to illegally
bring into Romania, from Hungary, 1,000 packages of cigarettes, Jin
Ling brand, made in Ukraine.
The cigarettes were hidden under the front seats. The cigarettes
and the vehicle were seized for further investigations.
