STREAM 2 – Third Steering Committee Meeting

On 15–16 July 2026, Giurgiu Territorial Border Police Inspectorate organized the third Steering Committee meeting in Giurgiu, within the framework of project ROBG00005 – Streamlining cross-border cooperation: Joint approach in disaster resilience (STREAM 2), co-financed by the Interreg VI-A Romania–Bulgaria 2021–2027 Programme.

The meeting brought together representatives from the partner institutions in Romania and Bulgaria involved in the project's implementation, as follows:

  • The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Romania - project leader;
  • The General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection of the Republic of Bulgaria - project partner;
  • The Territorial Inspectorate of the Border Police Giurgiu - project partner;
  • The Academy of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Bulgaria - project partner;
  • The National Association of Volunteers of the Republic of Bulgaria - project partner.

Additionally, the event was attended by representatives of the Programme’s Managing Authority, the Regional Office for Cross-Border Cooperation Calarasi for the Romania–Bulgaria border and the Directorate for Non-Reimbursable External Funds within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The purpose of the meeting was to monitor project progress by evaluating activities carried out to date and coordinating the steps necessary to achieve the established objectives. Key topics presented included the status of each partner's public procurement procedures, signed contracts, expenditures incurred and submitted for verification, estimates of future funding requests, and activities planned for the upcoming reporting period.

The STREAM 2 project makes a significant contribution to enhancing the safety and protection of the population in the eligible area by strengthening the response capacity and cooperation between the institutions responsible for emergency management on both sides of the Danube.
