Smuggled cigarettes hidden in bags with sugar or in the double floor of a vehicle

Romanian Border Police officers within Caras Severin County detected three Romanian citizens, two women and a man, intending to smuggle into our country 3,400 cigarettes packages hidden in the double floor of a car, in a fake tank and in bags containing sugar.

On 18th of May 2011, around 16.00, at Naidas Border Crossing Point a Romanian citizen, Sevastian G., 43 years old, living in Caras Severin County, driving a Citroen car came.
The joint team, consisting of border police officers and customs officers, detected 3,060 cigarettes packages with and without stamp Fast and Marble brand valuing about 15,300 lei hidden in the double floor of a car.
The custom officer asset the cigarettes and the car and also imposed a fine for 10,000 lei.
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of tax evasion were drawn by border police officers.

On the same day, around 11.00 hours at Naidas Border Crossing Point came a Romanian citizen, Matei I., 37 years old, living in Caras Severin County, driving an Opel car.
Border police officers and customs officers detected 6,380 cigarettes, Fast brand valuing about 1,590 lei, hidden in the tank of a car.
The custom officer asset the cigarettes and the car and also imposed a fine for 10,000 lei.

Still at Naidas Border Police officers and customs officers detected a 50 years old woman, Georgeta M., living in Caras Severin County intending to smuggle into our country 380 cigarette, Fast brand valuing about 90 lei, hidden in several bags containing sugar.
The custom officer asset the cigarettes and also imposed a fine for on lady’s name.
