Seventeen illegal migrants detected by the Romanian Border Police Officers within Satu Mare and Bihor Border Police County Inspectorates

In the last 2 days, Romanian Border Police officers detected and apprehended seventeen people in the competency area, citizens of Alger, Tunis, Cameroon and Republic of Moldova, trying to illegally cross our border in order to reach Hungary.

On 18th of June 2011, at about 03.00 hours, Romanian Border Police officers within Berveni Border Police Sector, Bihor County, initiated a specific action in order to counter illegal migration. A border surveillance patrol within the aforementioned Border Police Sector noticed at the exit point of Vetis, five men trying to reach the border inside two TAXI cars. Out of the documents presented to the border police officers the fact that they are Algerians resulted. Also their presence in the area, at that hour, was unjustified.
After preliminary investigations, they stated that they intended to reach Hungary illegally, the final destination being France. Thus, on 17.06.2011 they took the train from Timisoara to Satu Mare from where they took two TAXI cars in order to reach Oar, where they were stopped by the border police officers.
On the names of the five Algerians, prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of attempt of state border illegal crossing were drawn.

On the same day, at about 22.15 hours, Romanian Border Police officers within Petea Border Police Sector, Satu Mare County, detected at about 200 meters from the border line two Africans without identity documents and who couldn’t justify their presence in the area.
The aforementioned people were leaded on the premises of the Petea Border Police Sector, where was established the fact that they are 27 years old Algerians. After the investigation the fact that they wanted to reach France, crossing illegally the Romanian - Hungarian border resulted.
In this situation, prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of attempt of state border illegal crossing were drawn.

On 18th of June 2011, at about 22.00 hours, Romanian Border Police officers within Petea Border Police Sector, Satu Mare County, noticed in the area of Satu Mare train station, three people who, after getting of the train, took a TAXI. Following the car till Vetis, the three people got of the car, walking towards the border line. At about 2,500 meters of the border line, they were apprehended by border police officers and leaded on the premises of the Petea Border Police Sector, where was established the fact that three of them are Tunisians and one is Algerian with ages of 26 and 27 years old. They have met in Timisoara and decided to illegally cross the Romanian - Hungarian border.
Taking into consideration the aforementioned facts prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of attempt of state border illegal crossing were drawn.

Also within Petea Border Police Sector, Satu Mare County, on 18th of June 2011, at about 20.00 hours three citizens of Republic of Moldova were apprehended. Using the same method, they tried to illegally cross the Romanian-Hungarian border. Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of attempt of state border illegal crossing were drawn.

On 19th of June 2011, at about 02.30 hours, Romanian Border Police officers within Salonta Border Police Sector, Bihor County, detected at about 2,000 meters from the border line, four men, two citizens of Cameroon and two of Tunisia trying to illegally cross the Romanian - Hungarian border.
The aforementioned people were escorted on the premises of the Salonta Border Police Sector for continuing the investigations and taking the imposed legal measures.
