From 24th to 25th of May 2011 took part the 34th Frontex Management Board meeting which coincided with European Day for Border Guard, where were present representatives of Border police all over European Union.
During the aforementioned events Romania was represented by a delegation of Romanian Border police leaded by the general inspector Mr. Ioan Buda.
The purpose of this meeting was (organized every three months) was to analyze the activities coordinated by FRONTEX, which took part up to now , the state of play of the operational cooperation between participant states in the field of surveillance and control of borders and also the future joint measures which will be organized by FRONTEX.
On 25th of May 2011, at Warsaw, FRONTEX Agency organized the event "European Day for Border Guards" where Romania was represented by the same delegation. The purpose of this event was to consolidate and improve the European community of Border Police, by emphasizing the contribution of the 400,000 Border Police officers of Europe, being organized a series of debates approaching various aspects of European borders’, management.
At the event were present also representatives of European Commission, authorities of Republic of Poland, the management board of FRONTEX Agency, the partnership agencies, international organizations and representatives of European Border Police.
Were organized representation stands of the Border Police within Member States including photo and technical exhibits, movies, etc.
The participation of Romanian Border Police in this events proves the involvement and interest of this institution in regards to FRONTEX Agencies’ activities being also an opportunity for strengthening the cooperation with the authorities and organizations of the Member States involved in fighting against cross border crime.
