During this period, the Romanian Border Police, in cooperation with the other institutions with attributions in the border crossing points, carries out thorough checks on persons and transportation means crossing the border, both on the entry and on the exit way in / from the country, according to the internal and international law provisions.
This is a temporary measure and its aim is to prevent the border crossing of the persons coming from the states in the conflict areas who can commit activities that represent a real threat against internal and external security.
Following this fact, in the border crossing points at the border with the neighbouring states it is expected that the waiting times will be increased in order to carry out the border formalities.
Bearing this in mind, all the measures in the competence of the institution were disposed in order to reduce the waiting times and to ensure an operational and civilized check. Thus, the number of personnel carrying out document control activity was supplemented and the number of control lanes in the border crossing points was increased.
In order to avoid overcrowding, the Romanian Border Police recommends the traffic participants to transit all the border points, so that the overcrowding of some of these border crossing points due to a large number of passengers in a very short time can be avoided.
The Romanian Border Police will continue to undertake firm measures in all the competence areas, Â will continue the inter-institutional cooperation at European level and an operational and efficient data and information exchange at national level for the efficient countering of cross-border crime.
