More than 4 kg. of heroin were discovered in Nadlac

The border policemen within Nadlac Border Crossing Point - Arad County - discovered more than 4 kg. of heroin which were hidden in a vehicle registered in Bulgaria to be traded on the "outlet market" in Western Europe.

On 25th of April 2009, around 11.45, at Nadlac Border Crossing Point, Arad County, the Bulgarian citizens Emil T., aged 26 and Myumyun M., aged 25 presented themselves in order to exit the country with a "VW" vehicle registered in Bulgaria.

Based on a risk analysis, the border policemen carried out a control of the mean of transportation. Thus, inside the vehicle, they discovered 8 packets hidden under the car mat situated in front of the right seat, which were wrapped in brown adhesive tape, containing 4,14 kg. of brown substance.

After the preliminary test realized with the endowed equipment, the substance reacted positively as heroin, following to be sent to a specialized laboratory for expertise.

At the present, the investigations are continued by the border policemen, under the coordination of the D.I.I.C.O.T. Prosecutors - Arad Territorial Bureau. The two Bulgarian citizens are investigated for high risk drug trafficking, and if they are found guilty as charged they may be imprisoned between 15 - 25 years.
