The border guards from the Coast Guard and the customs inspectors from the Constanţa Sud Customs Office are investigating the presentation of unrealistic documents to the customs authority, against a Romanian citizen who intended to introduce in the country, through the Port of Constanţa, a luxury car suspected to be underestimated.
On 09.12.2021, the border guards from the Coast Guard, while performing their duties in the Port of Constanța Sud Agigea, participated, together with the customs inspectors from the Border Customs Office Constanţa Sud, in carrying out the physical control on a container that arrived from the United Arab Emirates, addressed to a Romanian citizen. According to the accompanying documents, a vehicle with a total declared value of 10,000 euros was loaded in the container.
Following preliminary checks on the accompanying documents and the luxury car, the control authorities suspected that they were undervalued compared to the market value in the profile market.
As a consequence, the car was made unavailable until the end of the case, and in this case investigations are being carried out for the presentation of unreal documents to the customs authority, and legal measures will be ordered at the end of the case.
