Staring from today, 16.02.2009, five Romanian border policemen carry out, on the Italian territory, operative missions to support the Italian authorities in preventing and fighting illegal migration and trafficking in human beings.

The activity - performed within one month - is carried out based on the Memorandum signed in Rome, on 9 October 2008, between the management of the General Inspectorate of Romanian Border Police and the Central Directorate for Immigration and Border Police within the Ministry of the Interior of the Italian Republic.

In the framework of these missions, the representatives of the Romanian Border Police will take part, together with the Italian colleagues, in the control of the travel documents, carried out in the airport border crossing points, as well as in the checking the Romanian citizen for the compliance with the Italian / European legislation.
