The Border Police officers working with the Countering Cross Border Criminality Bureau from the Galati County Border Police Inspectorate and within Foltesti Border Police Sector supported by Braila County National Police Inspectorate, under the coordination of D.I.I.C.O.T. prosecutors - Galati Territorial Service, dissolute a criminal group which carried out illegal activities in the field of trafficking in human beings.
In 2009, Border Police officers working with the Countering Cross Border Criminality Bureau from the Galati County Border Police Inspectorate gathered some information regarding the fact that on the territory of Galati County operates a trafficking in human beings criminal network which deals with recruitment, guidance and the transportation over the border of some Moldovans.
According to this, Border Police officers working with the Countering Cross Border Criminality Bureau from the Galati County Border Police Inspectorate and within Foltesti Border Police Sector supported by Braila County National Police Inspectorate, under the coordination of D.I.I.C.O.T. prosecutors - Galati Territorial Service, dissolute a criminal group by carrying out specific activities in order to proof the illegal activities of the criminal group which carried out illegal activities in the field of trafficking in human beings.
During the investigation, was established the fact that the group was made out of four people - M. Ionut, M. Marius, O. Emil si C. Lupascu with ages between 20 and 27, with permanent addresses in Galati county and Braila county. The criminals were supported in their activities by two Moldovans who recruited people from Republic of Moldova willing to reach West European countries. After reaching Romania, the migrants were picked up by members of network who accommodate them and offered them a safe way towards West European destinations.
The Border Police officers established that, during 2009 - 2010, the criminal group trafficked in the same manner twelve Moldovans receiving in exchange for these services different amounts of money, varying from 1,000 to 2,000 Euro per person.
In the morning of 10th of February 2011, were organized house searches over the real estates of the four Romanian citizens with the permanent address in Vladesti and Braila County.
M. Ionut and M. Marius are investigated in committing the following crimes: initiation, establishment and accession to an organized group for the purpose of committing crimes and trafficking in human beings, being arrested for 29 days, the other members of the network being investigated at large.
Under the coordination of D.I.I.C.O.T. - Galati Territorial Service, Border Police officers carry out activities in order to reveal all the people involved in this case and to excoriate them.
