Conditions for entering/exiting vehicles from Romania

In accordance with the Road Traffic Convention, signed in Vienna on November 8, 1968 - art.39, ratified by Romania through Decree 318/1980, transposed into national legislation through Emergency Ordinance no. 195 of December 12, 2002 regarding traffic on public roads, republished, with subsequent amendments and additions art. 7, 9, 10 paragraph 1 and art. 82, during the border control, the driver of a means of transport must present a valid travel document (identity card/passport), a valid driving license corresponding to the category of the driven vehicle, the vehicle registration certificate and proof of periodic technical inspection. According to art 10 paragraph 1 GEO 195/2002, the periodic technical inspection must be valid at the time of presentation at the border crossing points.

We mention that the national legislation is valid throughout the national territory, applicable to all people, including Romanian citizens.
