Border traffic on August 15th, 2022

For this extended weekend, Romanian Border Police took measures to streamline traffic at the crossing points, as well as to strengthen the state border surveillance, without registering any special events.

More than 4,000 border police officers were on duty, daily, carrying out surveillance and control missions at the border.

The capacity of the crossing points was used to the maximum, the control arteries being supplemented in the direction of entry or exit from the country, as the case may be.

We mention that, between August 12-15 this year, more than 1,500,000 people, Romanian and foreign citizens and approximately 380,000 means of transport, went through the control formalities at the border points, both when entering and leaving the country.

The most transited border was the one with Hungary where, in the same period of time, approximately 600,000 people and 180,000 means of transport completed the formalities.

Regarding the border points, both in the direction of entry and exit, the most transited were Nădlac II, with approximately 350,000 people and PTF Giurgiu, with over 166,000 people.

Next, we recommend participants in cross-border traffic to use all crossing points and check the traffic situation through the Traffic on-line application that can be accessed at the address http://www.politiadefrontiera.ro/traficonline/.

As for Ukrainian citizens, 12,958 entered Romania during yesterday (increasing by 0.2% compared to the previous day). Thus, starting from February 10th, 2022 (pre-conflict period), until August 15th, 2022, midnight, at the national level, 1,951,167 Ukrainian citizens entered Romania.
