Border traffic on August 13th, 2022

On August 13th, 2022, through the border crossing points at the level of the entire country, approximately 486.800 persons, Romanian and foreign citizens, with over 127.280 means of transport, went through the control formalities (both on the way in and on the way out of the country).

On the way in to Romania, there were 236,900 people, of which 108,500 were throught the border with Hungary.

Yesterday, August 13th, 2022, the most crowded border points, both in the direction of entry and exit, were Nădlac II, with over 218,900 people, Giurgiu, with over 51,500 people and Vama Veche, with over 28,4700 people. Given that the Saint Mary's mini-holiday has begun and many Romanian citizens are traveling outside the country's borders, an increase in traffic at the border crossing points is also expected in the coming period, especially at the border with Hungary and Bulgaria. Given this, we recommend that Romanian and foreign citizens transiting the national border during this period use all border points open under the international regime and inform themselves about the travel conditions in the countries of destination and in those transited.

As for Ukrainian citizens, 13,597 entered Romania during yesterday (up 9.8% compared to the previous day). Thus, starting with 10.02.2022 (pre-conflict period), until August 13th, 2022, at 24.00, at national level, 1,925,285 Ukrainian citizens entered Romania.

Furthermore, the border control at the entrance to Romania through the border crossing points is carried out efficiently, in accordance with the provisions of the national and community legislation, the Border Police working at the maximum capacity allowed by the infrastructure of the crossing points.

Information on the situation of border points open to international traffic can be found on the online traffic application which can be accessed at http://www.politiadefrontiera.ro/traficonline/.
