26 border police women from 12 states participate in an international seminar on the role of women in border management and border security, in Iasi

Starting with 08.12.2014, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), in cooperation with the General Inspectorate of Border Police organizes within the School for Initial and Continuous Training of Border Police personnel from Iasi, the international course on the role of women in border security and border management - Leaders of today and tomorrow".
26 women within the border management and security agencies from 12 states (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Greece, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine), as well as 3 representatives of OSCE Secretariat participate in the five-day course.

In the period, 08.12 - 12.12.2014, the School for Initial and Continuous Training of Border Police personnel from Iasi hosts, upon the initiative of OSCE,  an international course to which 26 women, representatives of border management and security agencies from states like Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Greece, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine were invited to participate.

The course is organized in cooperation with the General Inspectorate of Border Police and has as main subject the role of women in border security and management - Leaders of today and tomorrow".

The course addresses the female personnel of middle and upper level within the law enforcement structures and aims the familiarisation of the participants with the OSCE concept on border management and border security covering the three dimensions of security: political, military and environmental and human rights.

The course will comprise theoretical training sessions and practical activities, focusing mainly on international cooperation, and border crossing check, leadership, with emphasis on gender equality in border agencies, border management and border security.

The course is designed so that the trainers are trainees and trainees are trainers. Except for the course manager, all experts in the field of border management and border security are women. Taking into account the professional experience of the course participants, the opportunities of information and experience exchange are enhanced in the five-day period.

To the opening and closing ceremony, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Central Structures, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as representatives of the General Inspectorate of Border Police are invited to participate.

The participation of RBP representatives in this activity represents an enhancement of the international interagency cooperation in the border field for carrying out an operational exchange of data and information.
