In the last 48 hours, Border Police officers detected
and apprehended 24 people, citizens of Alger, Morocco and Tunisia,
trying to illegally enter Romania.
Twenty migrants were detected by Border Police officers within
Timis Border Police County Inspectorate and four by Border Police
officers within Caras Severin Border Police County Inspectorate in
cooperation with representative of Romanian Immigration Office
(O.R.I.).
In all the cases, prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of
the offense of state border illegal crossing were drawn by Border
Police officers.
During 03 - 04.08.2011, Border Police officers
within Timis Border Police County Inspectorate apprehended several
groups of migrants citizens of Alger, Morocco and Tunisia with ages
from 19 to 37 years old, intending to illegally reach Schengen
area.
Thus, on 03.08.2011, Border Police officers within Lunga Border
Police Sector detected in the competency area ten people, males who
spoke no Romanian and had no identity documents. Border Police
officers led the aforementioned people on the premises of Lunga
Border Police Sector in order to sort out the situation.
On this occasion was established the fact that six of them are
citizens of Algeria, 2 from Morocco and 2 from Tunisia with ages
from 19 to 37 years old, which illegally crossed the
Serbian-Romanian border.
Yesterday, Border Police officers within Moravita and Cruceni
Border Police Sectors detected in the competency area two groups of
migrants consisting of six people, males. Out of the preliminary
investigations resulted that the six Algerians, with ages from 22
to 33 years old, illegally crossed the Serbian- Romanian
border.
Also, Border Police officers within Jimbolia Border Police Sector
detected this morning at about 08.30, in the competency area, four
migrants, citizens of Alger, with ages from 20 to 27 years old,
illegally crossed the Serbian-Romanian border.
On 03.08.2011, Border Police officers within
Naidas Border Police Sector, Caras Severin County, initiated an
action in the field of countering illegal migration in cooperation
with representative of Caras Severin Romanian Immigration Office
(O.R.I.).
Thus, at about 14.00 hours, 459 meters away from the border line,
were detected four males. Border Police officers established that
they are foreigners with no identity documents which determined
them to lead the foreigners on the premises of Naidas Border Police
Sector in order to sort out the situation.
Out of the preliminary investigations and the migrants’
statements resulted that they are citizens of Libia, with ages from
25 to 38 years old. The four people illegally crossed the Serbian-
Romanian border. During the investigation, the migrants asked for
asylum, request which is in the competency of Caras Severin
Romanian Immigration Office (O.R.I.), who will initiate the
specific procedures.
In all the cases, prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of state border illegal crossing were drawn by Border Police officers, following at the end of the investigation to be taken the imposed legal measures.
