Today, the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Border Police hosted the meeting between the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain, Mr. Fernando Grande - Marlaska Gomez and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Romania, Mr. Lucian-Nicolae Bode, at the invitation of the Romanian official.
His Excellency Mr. Jose Antonio Hernandez Perez-Solorzano, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Bucharest, was also present at the meeting, the two delegations being welcomed by the Inspector General of the Romanian Border Police, Mr. Victor-Ştefan Ivaşcu.
The Spanish officials were presented with interesting aspects of the organization, attributions, activity and endowments of the Romanian Border Police, in general, as well as the role and importance of the Operational Coordination Center, in particular.
Also, the inter-institutional cooperation at the level of the Romanian border authority in the field of competence was highlighted, both with the specialized structures within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain, and with the internal affairs attachés/accredited liaison officers within the Spanish diplomatic mission at Bucharest.
The Spanish guest conveyed his lordship's appreciation for the activity of the Romanian Border Police, even more so given that the Integrated System for Observation, Surveillance and Control of Black Sea Traffic (SCOMAR) is of Spanish inspiration, following the model used by the Guardia Civil.
