Nine Illegal Migrants Stopped at the Romanian Border on Their Way to Schengen Area

In the last 24 hours, Romanian Border Police officers detected and apprehended nine people, Pakistanis and Indians, trying to illegally cross the border in order to reach Schengen area.

Last evening, around 23.50, a surveillance border patrol within Nadlac Border Police Sector, Arad County, detected five people, males, walking towards Hungary. The five people were apprehended at about 10 meters inside Romania compared to the Hungarian territory, near Nadlac.
As a result of the investigations, was established the fact that the aforementioned people are citizens of Pakistan and India, with ages between 24 and 28 intending to reach Schengen area. The five third country nationals stated that they traveled by car to Nadlac and then walked, over the field till the moment of detection. They used this method due to the fact that they had no visas for Schengen area.

In the morning of 28 of April 2011, around 03.00 o'clock, Border Police officers within Sannicolau Mare Border Police Sector, Timis County, detected four people in an opened field at less than 200 meters away from the Hungarian border. Their presence in the area was not justified.
Due to the fact that the aforementioned people did not speak Romanian, they were taken to the premises of Sannicolau Mare Border Police Sector, in order to sort out the situation. Here was established the fact that they are Pakistanis, with ages between 24 and 33, trying to reach Hungary illegally. In the process of investigations the third country nationals stated that their final destination was Italy, in order to get a job there.

Romanian Border Police officers interrupted the journey of the aforementioned nine people and started an investigation as they are incriminated for illegal state border crossing attempt, at the end of the investigation the imposed legal measures being taken.
