Working meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and partners from Bulgaria, in the context of the full application of the Schengen acquis by Romania

On March 21, 2024, a meeting of representatives of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Bulgaria and Romania took place in Ruse to review cross-border police cooperation and identify measures to ensure security after the two countries' accession to Schengen.

Existing cooperation and applied European best practices were highly appreciated. The introduction of new forms of interaction was also discussed.

An agreement was reached to strengthen joint activities in all directions, organize periodic meetings to review cooperation and update bilateral agreements, in the context of Schengen accession.
