Working meeting of the management of the Romanian Border Police with that of Montenegro

During 12-13.10.2021, a delegation of the Montenegrin Border Police, led by Mr. Dragan KLIKOVAC, the head of the Border Police Department, as well as representatives of the European Border Police and Coast Guard Agency - FRONTEX paid a visit to documentation at the level of the Romanian Border Police.

The foreign officials were received, at the headquarters of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police, by a delegation led by the general inspector of the I.G.P.F., Mr. principal Quaestor of Police Liviu BUTE.

Given the fact that the National Coordination Center of the Romanian Border Police is considered a model of "good practices" in the European Union, FRONTEX Agency organized this documentary visit to Bucharest - for the presentation of the Operational Command Center (COC) of the Police Border and Constanta and Mangalia, for the presentation of the SCOMAR system and the naval capabilities of the Coast Guard. The visit took place in the context in which the FRONTEX Agency supports third countries in their effort to set up National Coordination Centers through which they can manage the EUROSUR (European Border Surveillance System) network, based on the provisions of Regulation 1896 of 2019 on Border Police and European Coast Guard.

During the visit to the Operational Command Center, the representatives of the Romanian delegation presented aspects of interest regarding the activity of RBP and the capabilities of the institution, the role in the organization, the structure, the capabilities of the EUROSUR system, the national situational picture, and the cooperation and coordination from a central level of their own structures.

During the second day, the main attributions and missions of the Coast Guard, the organization, the area of responsibility, as well as the means of naval and land mobility, the way of carrying out the surveillance of the maritime border and the mechanisms of regional and international cooperation were presented. Also, the SCOMAR Center was presented with an indication of its architecture, characteristics and main attributions.

This visit is part of the program carried out by the Romanian Border Police in order to intensify international inter-institutional collaboration relations in the border field, in order to ensure border security.
