Having regard to the European regulatory framework on facilitating free movement during the COVID-19 pandemic and the provisions of the Romanian Government Emergency Ordinance on measures to implement the European framework for issuing, verifying and accepting the EU digital certificate on COVID to facilitate free movement traffic during the COVID-19 pandemic, starting with 01.07.2021, the Romanian Border Police ensures the verification of the authenticity and validity of the digital certificates regarding vaccination, testing or cure.
To verify, upon entering the country, the QR codes on the digital certificates, the Special Telecommunications Service distributed to the Border Police 271 mobile scanners and 271 smart mobile phones, equipment that installed the "CoronaScan" application.
The certificate can be presented, upon entering Romania or in any other member state of the European Union, both in digital format, on a mobile device, and printed on paper.
We remind you that the digital certificate is not a mandatory document when crossing the border, but with its help, people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, those who have recovered from this condition or those who have a negative result in testing COVID-19 they can prove their epidemiological situation in an operative way.
We mention the fact that, in accordance with the legal provisions, no data or information will be retained from the certificate verified through the computer system of the Romanian Border Police or through the mobile verification application "CoronaScan" (application for verifying certificates by scanning the QR code on them).
