In order to implement the National Plan of
Measures "Safe Winter Holidays", the Romanian Border Police,
together with the other structures of the Ministry of Internal
Affairs, will be involved in large-scale activities that are aimed
to increase the safety of the citizens by ensuring a safe public
security environment in the competence area.
During these activities, punctual missions will take place, which
aim, besides the control and surveillance of the state border,
actions in the field of maintaining and ensuring public order in
the competence area, as well as for countering economic-financial
crimes.
Therefore, the management of the Romanian Border Police disposed the following measures both in the border crossing points and in the border area - 30 km inside the border line:
Additional personnel for carrying out the control of the documents, respectively the increase of control lanes in the border crossing points, on the entry / exit way in / from the country, as necessary; Â Ensuring an intensified surveillance of the state border, by applying the legal measures in order to prevent and counter cross-border crime; Establishing a personnel reserve within the territorial structures, comprised of specialists ready to take action, if necessary; Develop punctual actions in order to detect the persons who transport pyrotechnic materials or wood without observing the law; Support A.N.S.V.S.A. for carrying out joint missions in the competence area, to check the observance of the legal provisions regarding the trade of food products and the ones specific to the winter holidays; Enhancing the co-working and collaboration relations with the other structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the border authorities of the neighbouring states, as well as with the local public administration.Also, having in view that the winter holidays bring back in the country many Romanian citizens who live abroad for spending their holidays with the families and relatives, but also foreign citizens wanting to spend their holidays in Romania, it is expected an increase of the traffic of persons and transportation means in the border crossing points. In this respect, in order to avoid overcrowding, the Romanian Border Police undertook the necessary measures so that the border crossing formalities will be carried out in an operational, fluent and civilized manner.
The Romanian Border Police will continue to undertake firm measures in all the competence areas and will continue the inter-institutional cooperation through an operational and efficient information exchange at national level in order to counter efficiently cross-border crime.
