
Between November 12-14, 2025, in Oradea, Bihor County, the first Workshop for developing a common training curricula was held within the project “ROHU00634 - SAFE- Together for a Safer Area”, financed under the Interreg VI-A Romania-Hungary Cooperation Programme.
The general objective of the project is to increase the level of safety and security for citizens, residents, and tourists in the eligible area, addressing cross-border challenges through the improvement of institutional capacities, modernization of training facilities, and strengthening of cooperation between law enforcement institutions from Romania and Hungary.
The purpose of the Workshop was to harmonize training practices between Romanian and Hungarian institutions, bringing together diverse expertise to create a standardized approach, focusing on defining the structure and core content of the curriculum.
The topics addressed included: border control procedures, identification of forged documents, management of alerts in the Schengen Information System (SIS), border surveillance, patrolling techniques, and tactical actions (detention and pursuit).
The Workshop was organized by the General Inspectorate of the Border Police (IGPF) - Project Leader, hosted by the Bihor County Police Inspectorate (IPJ Bihor) - Partner II, in partnership with the “Avram lancu” Border Police Agents Training School in Oradea (SPAPFAI Oradea) - Partner III, and the Police Education and Training Centre in Szeged, Hungary (ROKK) Partner V.
The total value of the project is 4,375,000.00 €, of which 2,884,275.58 C represents 65.935 external non-reimbursable funding (ERDF).
The project implementation period is 36 months, from December 23, 2024, to December 22, 2027.
