Border traffic on July 29, 2022

On 29.07.2022, through the border crossing points at the level of the entire country, approximately 299,100 persons, Romanian and foreign citizens, with over 75,800 means of transport, went through the control formalities (both on the way in and on the way out of the country).

On the way to Romania, there were 150,088 people, of which 12,029 were Ukrainian citizens (up to 6% from the previous day). Thus, starting with 10.02.2022 (pre-conflict period), until 29.07.2022, at 24.00, at national level, 1,739,410 Ukrainian citizens entered Romania.

Furthermore, the border control at the entrance to Romania through the border crossing points is carried out efficiently, in accordance with the provisions of the national and community legislation, the Border Police working at the maximum capacity allowed by the infrastructure of the crossing points.

Regarding the specific activities, in the areas of competence - the crossing points and the "green border" - the border guards found:

  • 60 illegal acts (29 crimes and 31 contraventions) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens;
  • the value of the applied contravention fines amounts to over 55,800 lei;
  • 21 foreign citizens were not allowed to enter the country, who did not meet the conditions provided by law, and also 44 Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave for various legal reasons.

The Border Police acts in an integrated system with the other institutions with attributions in the field, in order to achieve an operative exchange of data and information for the efficient management of the cases.
