Border traffic on 19th of April 2024

On 18.04.2024, the border police carried out the control formalities (both in the direction of entry and exit) for approximately 142.000 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, and over 54.200 means of transport that transited border points throughout the country.

On the way to enter Romania, 69.631  people passed through the border points, of which 7.202 were Ukrainian citizens. Thus, starting from 10.02.2022 (pre-conflict period), until 18.04.2024, midnight, at the national level, 7.813.001 Ukrainian citizens entered Romania.

Next, the border control at the entry into Romania through the border crossing points takes place promptly, in accordance with the provisions of the national and community legislation, with the Border Police working at the maximum capacity allowed by the infrastructure of the crossing points.

Thus, in the last 24 hours, in the areas of competence - the crossing points and the "green border" - the border police found:

- 119 illegal acts (37 crimes and 82 misdemeanors) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens;

- the amount of contravention fines applied amounts to over 91.100 lei;

- goods seized for confiscation, worth more than 623.500 lei;

- 33 foreign citizens, who did not meet the conditions stipulated by the law, were not allowed to enter the country, and 7 Romanian citizens were also not allowed to leave for various legal reasons.
